Help, opinion, or personal experience?

Hi everyone,
I've been considering buying an exercise bike for a while, since it's easier for me to exercise at home than outside. I live in Florida and get heat stroke so easily it's not even funny, even been hospitalised for it a few times, and it's not like I don't drink enough fluids, I drink nearly 6 litres of water a day. But anyway, I was considering a stationary bike, but at the moment I'm kind of torn between a bike, treadmill, or one of those tread-climber things. I was wondering what you guys preferred when it comes to you exercising, and if anyone knew of any good ones to consider.

    If you're going to spend that much, I'd recommend a routine. Something like P90X, Chaliene Extreme, or Insanity would benefit you overall /much/ more than a stationary bike.

    Why not spend the money on a REAL road bike and an indoor trainer for it. That way you have the option to be indoors when the weather isn't ideal, but can also ride outdoors when it's nice. You couldn't pay me to limit my riding to indoors, only. It's boring as sin. I can't tolerate much more than an hour on the trainer, but outdoors a 2-3 hour ride is nothing.
  • why not skip buying one and get a gym membership that offeres verious classes, I pay 53 dollars a month for a gym that offers like 100 diff classes, from zumba to kick boxing, slant- to line dancing and everything inbetween than I can use there equiptment. ive made a ton of friends, and a great support system at my gym.
    But to answer your question, a stationary bike is SO boreing. i bought one because I love spinning, but doing it at home, by myself, without an instructor was sooooooo boreing. i used it for like all of 4 weeks and now its a coat rack. I do really like the tread climber, the one at the gym has the personal trainer app or whatever and it really keeps me motvated to keep going on it. I think I would invest in one for the days I dont have the time to drive the 30 minutes to my gym

    I own a treadmill and I love it......but really it comes down to which machine you personally enjoy using the most.

    I like the idea of this. Let's you change up your routine.

    I've been working out at the gym for about 10 years, and though my wife and I will go for bike rides or hikes, I love the options you get by having a gym membership. Something to consider though is the price. If you can find a new gym that is opening up, that would be the time to get a good deal. I pay $49/year for my membership. This great price came with a 1 time $600 initiation that paid for the first 3 years (still not a bad deal). My point is that I use the Stair Master, Treadmill, Bike, Elliptical while also having all the weight machines and free weights.
