Hello, I am new to this site but I find it easy to use. But I am having some trouble eating enough calories for the day my limit is 1970 but I always stop at about 1200 - 1300 it is a bad thing, If so how could I use them without resorting to high calorie snacks, Also when I excercise do I have to eat even more calories,

Hi it's important to eat to your cal level set my Mfp, this includes eating back exercise cals. The cals Mfp gives you already includes the deficit for you to lose 2lbs per week by sticking to 1970, creating too large a deficit is not healthy and will result in your metabolism slowing down and making it harder to lose long term. If you search through forum thee are loads of more detailed posts explaining how this works.
Healthy ways to add more cals include olive oil, nuts, peanut butter, avocado, whole milk etc.
If you had a handful of nuts, 250ml milk and a spoon of oil in your cooking that will add around 500 cals a day.
Have a look at my diary if you want, Mfp gives me 1240 for 2lbs/ 1740 for 1lbs. I eat 1740, net around 1340 after exercise (5'4, 221lbs) I hardly ever go under cals and have lost 23 lbs in 13 weeks
Hope this helps x0
