Metabolism Boosters?

Hi All,
Ive been reading alot of things online about natural metabolism boosters , so I can add them to my foods in hope that they will boost my metabolism (obviously)
Ive been adding cinnamon to my smoothies and eating capsicum, in anyones opinion do these actually work, or do you eat supliments that have helped.
Im just interested in doing everything I can to get this underway... especially if it means just adding an extra ingredient to my meals.
Anyways opinions and thoughts are welcome.

My sister in law and I just had this discussion yesterday.. Yeah, they'll nudge your metabolism up a smidge... but so will 10 jumping jacks. I'd say adding natural elements like cinnamon or capsicum (cayenne is what I prefer) to give your food a kick is fine if you like it (which I do), but if you're spending money on supplements to achieve a magical boost in metabolism, you probably aren't going to notice an obvious jump in energy or weight loss. Instead, you should probably add in more cardio, you'll boost your metabolism more and if you stick with it, you'll actually be able to see physiological changes.0

I cook with creamed coconut and hot sauce, both are said to help boost metabolism, I don't know if it really works but it sure tastes good!!!:happy:
As for supplements I take a multivitamin, sometimes a B12 if I'm feeling sluggish ( but I am a bit deficient in B12 ) but if I'm feeling like I need an energy boost I'll take ginseng, works great, its natural and there are little to no side effects!
And in agreement with the above comment, I do 35 mins of cardio 5 days a week, that surely helps!0 -
Ice cold water first thing in the morning revs up your metabolism. Read this in The Four Hour Body. Any time your body is cold it uses energy and burns calories to warm itself up.0

Sorry, but Ginseng DOES have side effects.. serious cardiac ones.. It increases heart rate, which may be dangerous for some, if you have underlying cardiac issues or take it on an empty stomach. Just a warning..0 -
I add cinnamon to everything I can--tea, oatmeal, yogurt, etc, but for a different reason--I've read that it helps prevent diabetes, helps even out blood sugar.0

I try to drink ice cold water in an effort to give me a boost, but recently I've started putting tabasco on everything. Recent studies show that eating 5 tsp. of hot sauce can boost your metabolism by up to 20% for 2 hours after consumption.
I have to mention that ginseng DOES have several negative side effects. It can cause nausea, overall stomach discomfort, headaches, and can decrease the blood's natural ability to properly clot which can be very dangerous.0 -
I had not heard about the cold water--I don't really like cold water in the winter--but, will try.any boost is a help. I have tried several Metabolism pills and find very little or no benefit to weight loss. Don't know how they get by with taking people's money. They DO however make me feel awful--dizzy headed , heart palpitations. . Save your money and take a walk.0

I do drink cold water most of the day - Im trying to add green tea to my diet and take coffee out! And have only gone as far as adding little things that ive had at home to my meals. I wasnt really expecting too much, but I thought that even a little help is help none the less!
I mainly work cardio at the gym, and am there most nights (at the moment) for around an hour.
I do drink Icey water cause i find if it isnt super cold I wont drink it.
Suupplements are unfortunately not my thing, I personally think its a bit of a crock (no offense to anyone Im just a sceptic)
