What are your guys' opinion on diet pills?
A friend from work kept going on and on yesterday about how she's been taking this diet pills and lost 15 pounds in
a couple of months. I'd be lying if I said I didn't envy her progress, but I was kind of skeptical about the pills.
Thinking about it, i'm kind of leaning toward just trying them out..

What do you guys think?

Never do diet pills. You don't learn anything by it. Also once you get to your goal weight you gain the weight back that you loss, it doubles back. Learn how to eat right and exercise right, then you won't have to do pills every few years.

What she said. Plus they are dangerous. My mom's cousin died from taking diet pills. She was on Phen-Phen, which was a prescription drug. It gave her diabetes and a very dangerous lung disease called primary pulmonary hypertension. That's what ultimately took her life. Please stay away from pills.

A friend of mine went to get some cheap diet pills from Estonia. They were supposed to remove all extra fat from the body. I don't know what had gotten into her but she tried a double dose and spent the rest of the day in the bathroom because the fat and other kinds of fluids just kept coming out of her @hole... :DDD It sounds funny but she had to be taken to a hospital.

Only take diet pills if you would consider smoking crack to loose weight.

I use to take diet pills, because I had a really slow metabolism and I thought that by taking pills that claimed to speed up your metabolism I will lose weight.

But the true is that , I was also doing some crazy diets and I'm sure that if I had only done the diets I would have lost the same weight.

I also know someone who had an heart attack after using some diet pills , she lost about 60 pounds but months later had the heart attack.

So no more diet pills for me , is not worth it.
  • I heard some girls at my school saying how diet pills made their heart beat really fast after they took them! That does not sound healthy. I wouldn't mess with them. Do it naturally and your body will be happier and your heart/health won't be at risk.

A few years ago by doctor prescribed me Phentermines and I lost a tone of weight within 3 months. But because I didn't make the decision to have a complete life style change (eating healthier foods and exercising), I went through some tough times, started eating and drinking beer and doubled my weight back.

I won't lie, I often think about getting the pills again but only because I've now changed my entire life style. I now eat correctly and exercise on the regular so I won't just be relying on these pills to take my weight off and keep it off.

Whatever decision you make, you must make for yourself but if you haven't mastered self-control when it comes to eating, exercising on the regular, portion control, etc.... don't think about it. And before anything....consult with a doctor. I was monitored every month by my physician. You don't want to begin to take anyting that may spike your blood pressure or something even worst.

Terrible things to take. Most are not approved as being safe or healthy even though almost every store sells it.

Any weight that is lost is usually gained right back. Total waste of money and a stupid chance at hurting yourself in my opinion.
