soo would you be able to loose weight without the help of MFP?

personally i couldnt! i dont know where id be if i hadnt of found this site! i have beeen very overweight from the age of 13, when i hit 16 i really wanted to loose weight - and i just couldnt =/ i signed up to weight watchers in my local area - only to find that i was the youngest there out of the 30 ish that went!:blushing: and i didnt have any confidence what so ever to go back every week to weigh in infront of total strangers =/... soo i finished that.. then more weight creeped on... but i am soo glad i have found this website! it makes me more accountable of the calories that go in my gob! and it sounds sillly - but i love weighing out all my fooods!! cereal, salad, meat, etc etc! and i LOVE excercise now! wheras many years ago i used to shout at the teachers in high school when they told me to go on the running machine in the school gym!

and last but not least - all the wounderfull friends i have made on here from all over the world!! seeeing some of your calorie burns have really helped to motivate me!

soo yeaaaah, i dont think i would of been 45lbs lighter in the space of a year if i hadnt of met MFP!

 x

I don't think I could tbh. About 4 months before I found MFP I tried to lose weight on my own. I devised my own calorie goal depending on how active I was that day, and wrote down the cals, protein etc by hand. It was quite good really and I lost around 7lbs.

I couldn't stick to it though, and gained it all back plus a few extra lbs. Been on MFP now since June '10 and never fallen off the wagon here, I love it! :D

I lost 20 kilo's before joining or even knowing MPF was around, but withou support it was hard and it wasn't a steady loss it was tiny bits at a time for a year, hopefully now I lose lots more!

MFP saved me for sure.. have tried this many times without it.. I really want this now & MFP is my lifesaver.. I have to be accountable for everything I eat... Its like if I don't log everything or eat things I know are not right I feel horrible.. It has me under control.. But a good control.. Food used to control me, but not now... Thanks MFP... Good luck on your journey..

Of course; there are many alternatives, including just old fashion diet and exercise with personal accountability.
I'm not knocking MFP, but I reached my goals before ever joining up.

I've set new goals and sure wish I had found this 2 years ago.

I used MFP for 6 months and did VERY well. Got down to within 5 lbs of my goal weight. I stopped using MFP because i thought i was good to go having lost most of it...within 1 year i had gained it all back. When i use MFP it makes me accountable to something on how much i eat and i pay more attention to my snacking habits.
I will use this even when i reach my goal just to help me maintain my weight.

    I LOVE MFP!

Yes, I could do it without it have before...twice. I will say MFP makes it much easier to track caloric intake though...

I think it could be done NOW..that I am aware of certain foods and its nutrients and how it factors in my journey!! The support is great I still question if it would be a success! LOL
