P90X Classic vs P90X Lean

Hey all... my husband and I just ordered P90X and got it in the mail a few days ago. I've been reading the info and I didn't even know there were two different pathways... I've only heard people say, "Hey, I'm doing P90X!" Anyone have any tips on which one to do? I'm trying to lose weight/tone up. My husband is trying to tone up and build muscle, so he's doing the P90X classic. Thanks!

Congrats on your purchase. It's a great kickbutt workout. I've started it a few times and have decided I need to get in a little better shape to actually get through the 90 day round. I highly suggest the Lean routine. If you're already in decent shape you could do doubles ( you add cardio as a 2nd workout a few days a week). Anyhow...good luck to you...have fun Bringing It

I did a round of Lean while my hubby did classic. I made great strides. Now I just rotate the various workouts along with my Zumba dancing at the gym!0

Thanks ladies! Did anyone do before and after pictures and think the "Lean" made as much of an impact as the "Classic"?0

I'm currently doing Lean and I love it. I'm hoping to lean out more.0

I suggest then Lean for you and Classic for your husband. Once you receive it, watch the How to Bring It! DVD and Tony will explain you depending on your goals which to do0

I'm starting tomorrow too! I have the p90x App for the iPhone and it gives you a nice before and after photo reminder and other neat things. I'm ready to roll!0

You'll do fine doing Classic with him. I don't suggest you each do a different path because it really helps to have someone to work out with. Watch your calories and you'll do great. I have done Classic and Lean (with my husband). You can feel free to friend me and ask any questions. Get ready for a great transformation. P90X is my baby and I believe that if you put in work, it will change you!0

I'd switch it up. I picked lean, but I love Plyometrics which isn't in the workout schedule for lean. So, instead of doing Cardio X (I think it's boring) I do Plyometrics instead. Check out the vids, depends on what you like.0

Thanks for all the tips, guys! I appreciate the input!0

I can't get through either yet so I just do my best and forget the rest!!! (love the infomercial)0

One of my friends did the Lean first and then the Classic because he hadn't worked out in a while before he started. He looked ah-mazing after the first round of lean, lost a bunch of weight, and was glad he did them in that order.
I started with Classic, but I started after I had been strength training and running for years. I felt like I was in ok shape, had reached my goal weight, and thus skipped the Lean.0 -
My daughter and I are on day 31 of lean program in p90x. We are looking to get toned and lose 20-25 pounds. We would like to switch to the classic program for this second month. Since we are on day 31 of the program, and want to switch to classic, would we start with day 31 on CLASSIC or day 1 on Classic, since we have been doing lean? Thanks for your help.:flowerforyou:0

Well you could do it either way.....jump into day 31 of Classic or day 1 of Classic.
You could do the day 31 of Classic this time around....and if you and your daughter do a new P90x round of 90 days after, then do Classic for the whole thing.
I love Classic! I just started a new round 4/18 after being away from it for a couple of years. Its kicking my butt!
Make sure you are eating enough calories.0
