I completely understand....I always try to be the one taking the pics or hiding behind somethng or someone in the pic. HOWEVER.....I finally realized that I have very few pictures of me with my loved ones and few pics that chronicle my adventures. So I finally decided to join in. Let me tell you, it's been great motivation for me to get the weight off.
You know how some people look in the mirror and think they look fat when they are actually thin....I'm the opposite. I look in the mirror and think "I don't look that bad" until I see a picture of myself (strange, huh?) Anyway, so now I have pictures of myself AND motivation to keep losing weight!0 -
hahhaha im the same way...the mirror definately does not look as bad as the pictures!!! the pictures look like a whole different person! COngrats on the 20 pounds i cant wait till i get to that mark as well!!0

Actually I am the same way. I always take it from the top of me so I can look slimmer as it makes an illusion. That is sad :sad:0

WOW Lil .. if you ever look at my profile ... PICTURES were my motivation to start this whole thing.
I deleted, what should have been, precious moments from x-mas with my parents, and my kids. ONE has survived .. and i look at it often.
I have ONE picture when i was heavier on here ... that was on a friend's myspace .. which i hated her for.
I had the reverse problem with mirrors also .. i always thought i looked better than i actually did until the photos came back. :grumble:
You are a beautiful girl!! Take one of those pictures and put it on your fridge, or on your mirror. It is HIGHLY motivating .. and then your friends won't want to take pictures with you because you'll be so damn stunning!
GOOD LUCK HON!!0 -
My family all has a few extra pounds and I know I am taking after them...they were all super skinnies until their mid twenties and bam! I am now in my mid twenties and started putting on the pounds which is why I'm on myfitness pal! I feel you're pain...0

i know you guys are so right!! thats exaclty how i am...i pick n choose photos to send to friends and family member..which arent that many..lol sometimes i have to use pictures from years ago when i was actually skinny...well i have never actually been skinny...but skinnier...lol friends and family say i carry my weight well...but all it is..is i have became a pro at finding what clothes to wear to cover up the rolls haha. summer is here and when i should be happy im not because...i mostly only have winter clothes in my closet and am dreading to wear clothes that show skin lol. id just rather be really hot! why is that that we are so hard on ourselfs! it sucks!
ps...
sun shows cellulite and strechmarks even more!!! ahhhhhh :drinker: :drinker:0 -
I totally understand - for years I always took the pictures so that I wasn't in them....but looking back - I don't have hardly any pictures of me and I should have in family moments....one more thing I'm proud to have overcome with being a healthier me.....
Smile for the Camera..:happy:0 -
I don't know how old your profile picture is but you have FANTASTIC LEGS!!!! Show them OFF!!!!
Don't be soo hard on yourself. I know that sounds easier said ... but when i knew i was working towards the healthier me, I did lighten up quite a bit on my self-loathing, and concentrated on my goals.0 -
ya...slowly i am getting better at it...every time i lose a lil weight i feel a lil better...the picture is from last year I was at the same weight. thank you tho!
I get so exited when i see all the before and after pictures on here of people..it makes me feel like i actually have a chance..
and why do men always say....
i love you just the way you are!?!?!

I was just talking to the BF about this last night... because we were looking through pics on my camera and I deleted 90% on the ones I was in... because I have a freaken double chin (WTF???) All my friends... are like... no you look great is this one... I see it up on FB or myspace a week later and I look like a whale... :grumble: If I didn't see them though I probably never would have got my butt back on track... I always look in the mirror and feel good... so I guess it is good that the pics bring me back down to earth... :laugh:0

Oh wow I thought I was the only one... I used to joke that I had anorexxxia because when I looked in the mirror I saw a skinny person... but it's no joke. I"m actually relieved to know that I'm not the only one. Oh and with pictures? Turning slightly sideways, sticking the chin out so the double chin doesn't show as much, oh geez I have a million different ways to make me "look" better... I'm looking forward to my next update photo to see the changes...because between the start and now, I've lost a lot of weight, but I "look" the same... I think that's probably a distorted self image view as well.0 -
I so have this problem! But I also have never liked pictures of myself, even when it's just pictures of my head. I hate all my various IDs and name badges. I think I look really weird..but the mirror's okay. Anyway to get that "mirror" us to show up on film? :laugh:0
