Ok, I need to get some goodies for work to help me make it through the day..I stay starving most of the day everyday and I know thats not good and prolly why its harder for me to lose weight since I keep sending it into starvation mode..I used to get those little 100 calorie snacks but none fill me up, and I need something to help me at least get to my calorie goal..I am usually under 1200 everyday, which is supposed to be the lowest amount i am supposed to have everyday...fruits and veggies only make me hungrier..any suggestions on something to feel me up between breakfast and lunch and then lunch and supper?

Thanks!!

  • You could try adding a bit of protein or fat to the fruits and veggies. Peanut butter on apple slices, hummus with veggie sticks, that sort of thing. Or add a cheese stick/string cheese or a handful of nuts to your snack. Just be careful with serving sizes on your toppings.
  • I like cherrios they make all sorts of flavors and a third of a cup is between 100-110 per serving so I usually take two servings which is like 200-220 cals it fills up a whole sandwich bag and they are whole grain and very yummy. I have the banana nut and they taste just like banana nut bread. If I want sweets I buy Adkins snack bars and they are very tasty too.

The snacks I like the most are Greek yogurt, hardboiled egg, sea salt almonds, Laughing Cow cheese widge with crackers and fresh fruit (usually gala apple or banana).

If you have a Kroger store near you, try the Kroger brand CarbMaster yogurt. It comes in lots of awesome flavors and it tastes soooo good. Best thing is it has only a couple carbs and each has 50 or less calories. I picked some up this weekend at my Kroger adn they were 3 for a $1!

Another favorite of mine are the Fiber One bars. They have the regular bars that are around 140 calories or the 90 calorie bars. They taste good and the fiber is filling.

I also have been trying the Fiber One bars. They meet my afternoon munchie need especially with a little chocolate (my weakness). Chips and Salsa is another good one. Still trying to find a better chip, but the Salsa is low on the calorie count.
