I have read many profiles in here and I am amazed at all the people who are depressed. The depression is running the lives of so many, causing them to eat eat eat and over eat. Coupled with the LOW SELF ESTEEM their lives seem hopeless. The truth is, if they could rid off or get help for the depression they could loose the weight that is causing some of the low self esteem. Low Self Esteem goes alot deeper then just being over weight. Some might need to look for the real source of why they do not like themselves. It could be as small as a words spoken to them by someone else or It could be something that happened from a child that they want to forget or prefer not to think about. Either way Myfitnesspal is just a very good tool to help people manage to pull off what might be the impossible. There are some members who might need to rethink the true reasons behind the weight gain and try to address that as well. Heathy minds make heathy bodies!!!
Humble at heart,
Ladonna

I know for me that I had no motivation at all to work on being healthier until I started to unravel all the crap I had going on inside. It took a long time and professional help but I would not go back on it for a second. I love who I am now and who I am becoming. It is very hard to believe that you deserve to be happy and healthy when you don't love or even like your self to beging with.

Like you I love how supportive and inspiriring people are on this site. I think that it is doing a lot of people good to be encouraged from voices outside thier normal circle. Thanks for the post.

    Welcome to MFP!

    Good post!!
  • Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :blushing:
  • For me it was getting over the really bad depression and being able to finally start to unravel the tangled ball of yarn that was my life. My weight issue was the really nasty snarl at the middle, so I'm tackling it with all I've got now that I have the energy to do so.

How can you tell I'm a crocheter?

Depression is evil, it robs you of everything, sleep, appetite, fun, sucks the life clean outta you. And really who wants to hang around a shlump, I keep myself open to change and look at everything with a positive outlook, and trust me, lately i've been to hell and back, but depress me, I will not allow it to do. There is always "something worse" when you think you've hit rock bottom, sometimes those rocks move, more people need to be grateful for the gifts that they have in the moment rather then what they don't.

AND please..if my profile is depressing let me know, i'm sure I could come up with soemthingmore entertaining, there's that african savanah trip and the wild fire eating monkeys...the toaster strudel decorating competition that I won, and the fireworks display we made using a flare, a bottle of coke, and some mentos mints...it was amazing
