Looking for friends and motivating people. I am 46 yrs old. grown sons, work ft, run a pug rescue group and after all the community things and helping everyone under the sun ( still do ) I am 40-50 lbs overweight and need to take time for MEEEE now!

Started at the gym jan 3rd. going 4-5 x week- both cardio and strength training. Watching what I eat, but also allowing a cheat snack once a week so not craving overboard on chocolate or sweets.

I am married and have 4 pugs to keep us company. I would LOVE to have more friends on here so PLEASE ADD ME:)

thanks!

also- how do you get your weight loss tickers to post?

Good morning ladies!! Welcome to MFP (my fitness pal) I'd be glad to have you both as new friends to see you through your journey! You can never have too many! :-)

As for your tickers at the top of this forum page you are reading, click on settings and check the box to add your ticker :-)

    Good luck to you both!!

    Hello and welcome.
You have come to the right place. Getting fit is simple but hard.
Just get started by going into settings to Update diet/fitness profile.
Set your goals for 1 lb weight loss per week.
    NO MORE!
And eat lean meats, low fat dairy, nuts, whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies.
Do both cardio and resistance exercise.
AND EAT BACK YOUR EXERCISE CALORIES~!
    That's it.
    Again, quite simple.
The easy part is the what to do; the hard part is the doing.

    Good Luck!

Welcome - you are going to do great if you use the tools here!

To add friends, click on their name and a box comes up where you can message them or add them as a friend. Feel free to try it with me, and I will friend you back.

Oh, and I'm 55, married, grown sons, 1 granddaughter and one on the way, work ft, participate in community activities, have one dog, and am working on my son's wedding quilt. That said, I have lost an average of 0.3125 a day since mid October! You can do this!!

Hi and welcome. I have been here since Aug and really like it. Unfortunately I broke two bones in my foot and was stuck in a cast for over a month. So now that I am getting around I want to get serious about this journey. I am looking to give and get support. I could really use some help. About half of my mfp friends dont log in anymore so I am looking for older mfp to support and will support me too. Please friend me if you would like to support each other. I wish you great success with your journey.
