whats the best budget smart fone?

I want one so I can use apps like for this site and the couch to 5k, and im in the uk if that makes a diff (I know nothing about techno stuff). So far Im liking the galaxy ace and htc desire but would love some feedback before I buy......

    Anything with android, please don't give in to the apple craze. I have an HTC... you can get the myfitnesspal app on there as well.

    I agree, Android is brilliant and you won't be disappointed with HTC. Very very good phone.

    I used ipod touch, has all the iphone apps + wifi, and no monthly contract

    I tried samsung galaxy sii android phone for a couple of days but too complicated for me
