I found this article VERY helpful. Here is the link. It gives you the formula to figure out you protein, fat and carbs for each day.

There is no metabolic advantage to cutting carbs. Unless you have diabetes or PCOS, there is no need to cut them. Make sure you have adequate intake of fats and protein, then you can fill the rest in with carbs.

I don't believe in good carbs or bad carbs...it all depends on the composition of your diet. I eat "bad" carbs all the time.

Eat whole, unprocessed carbs like brown rice, whole grain pasta, brown rice pasta, shredded wheat, whole wheat couscous etc.
    Your body will thank you!

 Everyone is different and there is not hard and fast rule on carbs but everyone has an opinion...and here is mine.

For me personally I stick to non gluten carbs ( which basically is I get my carbs and fiber from fruit and vegetables because gluten bloats and extends my stomach as well as stuffs up my sinuses) I mix those with protein, and fats and that is what makes me feel good and keeps me within my 1800-2000 calorie day. The main thing is to listen to your body which means you may have to do some experimenting to see what works for you. Hope this helps! Good luck
