Bodybugg accuracy

I thought about doing jumping jacks during the comercials so I get more daily activity. Will the bodybugg be accurate for this? I read on another post that it is not accurate on somethings like bicyling and wondered if this would be too

  • You would think so since you are moving you arms. I though that was the problem with cycling and elliptical even - your arms may not be moving so it doesn't pick it up.

I'm curious about responses too actually. I have a BMF and do random exercise while gaming/studying :D

The I have the BodyMedia which are the creators of the Bodybugg software. They do essentially the same thing except the BodyMedia also monitors the quality of sleep. Anyway, they are about 90% accurate .. sometimes surprisingly so. They can tell the difference between laying down and sleeping ... walking around and moving vs an actual workout where you are walking. So my guess is that for jumping jacks it would also be accurate.

I thought maybe since i do jumping jacks so fast it would think i was sprinting or something I don't know. Thought I would double check with you pros on here:drinker:

Mine appears to be fairly accurate. I base my cal intake off it & when the stats say I should lose & when it says I should gain I have. Been using it for about 6 months now.

body media fit actually. same same

I'm questioning the Bodybugg's accuracy as well. I know it's supposed to be 90% accurate but after an intense 60min bodypump class it tells me I only burned 258 calories. Can that be right? When I'm at work it will register between 200-250 cal/hr where I don't work nearly as hard as I do in bodypump.
