Ok I have been logging for about 17 days but eating healthy since January 1. In the first two weeks I saw a big drop. 10 lbs. Now today, I got on the scale, and the scale says I gained all 10 back. Yesterday I was holding at the 10 pound loss. How can that be? What could I be doing wrong?

Might be nothing. Might be that TOM. Maybe you are dehydrated. Lots of possibilities here. The important thing to remember is: don't stop! You are doing your body good by eating right (and exercising). Over the long run you will definitely see a difference.
Don't give up! The scale is an evil, evil liar.0 -
weigh once a week only max I used to weigh daily and even sticking to it I could gain 5lbs some days ignore it weigh once a week and measure lots dont weigh just monthly x0

hopefully your scale is messed up....can hardly see a 10# gain that quickly!!!!!!
hang in there!0 -
My guess would be your scales are jacked up. Mine did it somewhere around my second or 3rd week on weigh in day and read something like 14 lbs different from the previous day (I weigh in most days but only record it once a week). I just said screw it, changed the batteries and recorded my weight the next morning.0

It's a really old doctor's scale in the gym at my job. I might just invest in a good home scale instead of using that. I heard it was messed up, but I figured, even if it's off it will record loss right? I'm just going to get a scale this weekend.0

I agree. You did not gain all of that weight back overnight. It is the scale, time of month, or even retaining sodium (I notice that a lot if I eat at a restaurant). Keep focused. You are doing great!0

10 lb gain in one day?? I would check the batteries in your scale. Some factors that could influence it are water weight, the time of day that you weigh and what you were wearing, or if you used a different scale. But 10 lbs in one day is still unlikely.0

You are probably retaining water or a messed up scale..... May I suggest that you cut out pasta and rice in your evening meal and eat instead a green vegetable instead to get your carbs. Like broccoli, green beans, etc. And change your diary settings so you can track your fiber and sugar. I did and I noticed there is hidden sugar in a lot of stuff. It really helps to keep it down and fiber up.0
