Hi everyone! I'm totally new to this but was looking for support or SOMETHING.

Over the past few years, I've lost about 40 lbs... it's been a trip! However, since this summer I've gained about 15 lbs back. This time last year I was working in retail, surrounded by mirrors and clothing sizes and it was hard enough as is. But now that I'm 15 lbs heavier, I can't stand it! I feel like in ever mirror and every clothing size I'm reminded of all the weight I've gained. I'm so incredibly disappointed in myself... I worked incredibly hard to get those last 10 pounds off or so, I don't know how I could have let myself do this.

I've started getting back on track, cutting back and getting in the habit of working my butt off at the gym. But I also know this stuff doesn't happen overnight... I'm only in the beginning stages now so I know I won't see any progress quite yet. I'm so deeply saddened by the way I look now, does anyone have any tips to stay motivated at the beginning? My goals just seem so far away and intangible.

Motivation for me was to map it out. Plan out when you will get to -15lbs. At one pound a week, you could be there by the second week of May - just in time for summer!! That worked for me - the reality of seeing for each week where I would be. Then its just the discipline through using MFP, doing your food tracking, and exercising. It will pay off, I promise!!!

I am in the same boat as you!! We just need to work at it everyday! It did NOT come on over night nor will it come off overnight! I wish you the fit body you once had!!
  • Try not to beat yourself up. Life happens in the middle of getting fit and staying fit. Just take it one meal at a time, and one day at a time. Try to stay committed to something related to be fit each day. For example, if your committment is drinking 8 glasses of water each day, come one may, drink the 8 glasses of water. I've gained and lost a couple of times. I understand your sadness and frustration, but I've learned that once you lose weight you acquire some healthy habits along the way. You will get back in shape when you put your mind to it.

I was at 242 and got down to 208 and gained it all acck...and guess what...i was looking GOOD...lol. But here I am at 235...but that's ok...cuz I'm back on the band wagon....and this time WE are gonna ...GET IT RIGHT!!! Now smile!!! It ain't over!!!
