I'm looking for a comfortable shoe for working out. I'm a budget of around $50. Any ideas. My feet are killing me.

What kind of shoes do you have now?

Are your arches flat.....if so you may want to try Dr. Sholls Orthotic inserts!?

Not sure if you have a Kohls near you but I always find their shoes to be way less then other places......I have two pairs one pair are Adidas Trail Runners and the other pair are Asics Running, I like them both a lot.
  • It kind of depends on the type of workouts you'll be doing, but I recommend skeletoes completely if you're going to be running/doing yoga/dancing. I always had issues with my knees when running in typical running shoes and the knee pain has gone down considerably since switching to these shoes.
  • Shop at Kohls as Tami said, you can go to ****'s but you'll want to see if they have any of last years "style" and then they would be in the right price.

I have normally tenni shoes and the Dr. Sholls inserts, because I have fallen arches and it was causing me so much pain that I went to the doctor about it. I"m supposed to wear arch supports all the time. I'm not going to recomend a brand because your feet are probably way different from mine so you'll probably want something different.

If you're jogging or running, you should be fit at a running store. Not a big box store, but an actual running store that caters to runners and walkers. They will analyze your steps and put you in a shoe that is right for your feet. This is a free service they offer (pretty much all running stores), and they might have a shoe in your price range, but you may need to spend a bit more. If they don't have anything in your price range, you can at least get the information from them about what type of shoe to look for.
    Good luck!

    ASICS GEL-Phoenix 3 High-Performance Running Shoes

I just got these from Famous Footwear. They are very comfortable. Nice arch support. They were on sale for $45.00.

^^ This for sure ! If you are running, you need the right shoes based on pronation and foot strike and your weight.... it will make the world of difference for you. My feet were killing me till I found out I needed a much more flexible shoe and one with extra cushioning because I am over weight..... no more foot pain for me.

highly highly advise this! I cannot stress enough the importance of getting good comfortable shoes. I walked for a good 6 months and then added jogging @ 400+ lbs. I give my shoes major credit. even if you aren't running all the time. it's worth the investment.

    I need to remember this!

I really need new shoes for working out. I have flat feet and working out on the elliptical is KILLER for my poor feet...

Best shoes for fitness are none at all. Of course, many gyms frown upon walking around barefoot, I'd try to go with the next best thing. Vibram five finger or Nike Free's. More expensive than $50 though...
I wear nike free's and try to go barefoot when possible. Best thing I ever did. My feet and legs no longer hurt from working out.

I have plantar faciitis, and I went to ShopNewBalance.com and found the most comfortable walking shoes on clearance for $39.99. Return shipping is always free. I bought the Women's 850s, and I liked them so much that I went back online and ordered more colors. They are "toning" shoes, but they don't look like it and I don't notice any issue with being off balance. They're comfortable, supportive of my arches, cushioned, and very breathable. One note, I did order 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. Also, if you have a New Balance outlet store anywhere close to you, check there!

LovesAdventure is right, the best shoe is just your foot (there is scientific proof). Anything I do at home I'm bearfoot if I'm out I have my tennies (from walmart) with my arch suports. I can't wear most nicer tennies because the archs are to hight for me. But it really is better for your feet to go with out when possible.
