I'm 5'3.75" I started out at 174. I'm now 132. My goal is to weigh 121.4 because that's what I'd weight at 17% BF. My real goal is to tone up this flabby belly and get some muscular definition in my abs!

My hips went from 42" to 35", my waist went from 34" to 27". I went from squeezing into size 12's stretchy pants to fitting comfortably into size 4's. My original goal was to get "anywhere between 135 and 145"- got down to 126 and I generally weight in somewhere between 128 and 132.

You look great! 105 would be pretty tiny, but you are very young still and look like you have a small frame. As you lose more weight try on concentrate more on body fat percentages and just being healthy. According to a height/weight chart, at 5'3" small frame, 111 is about the lowest "healthy" weight, but that's for an age range of 25-59. Talk to your doctor when you get closer to what you think is your goal weight. Just find a weight that's within the healthy range that you have no problem maintaining.

I'm 5'4", 120 lbs. now. I started at 210 lbs. Pretty much at my goal weight now, just working on toning and adding more exercise.

CONGRATS!!! im 5'3 and my goal is about 125lb. My starting weight was 283lbs , yes morbidly obese! i have lost about 8.5 pounds in a month! I have never been small so im just going to go by looks and feel rather than a number, however a number is a good place to start.

I am 5'2" (with shoes on  ) and currently weigh 110.5. But, I have a lot of flab and a nice belly pooch (3 pregnancies on a small frame and short torso). I was on bedrest with all 3 pregnancies so I really lost a lot of muscle tone due to that. Also, after my last child in Feb 2008, I was so out of shape and did nothing to change that until last year. I started with changing my diet and lost 15 pounds. I just started exercising again and have lost 1.5 pounds in a week. I am doing the 30 day shred. Hoping to tone up and gain more muscle and have more energy. If I gain weight, so be it. I think it has to do with your body composition and how you carry your weight. If I look tone and trim and feel healthy and energetic, I don't really care what the scale says!!! Good luck to everyone!

Just to give you an idea, here are the pics I took when I started 30 DS last Tuesday. Looking at these pictures, I think I look like I weigh more than 112 (my starting weight).

I'm 5'3" and 124 lbs, 23% body fat. I'm wondering how you calculated your goal weight? Is it based on a specific body fat %? I would be more concerned with getting to a body fat goal than a weight. For instance, if I was 19% bodyfat, I'd look very lean but I would still weigh 119 lbs.

I would look ill at 105 lbs, not to mention how hard that would be. I have vacillated between 124-120 lbs for a year, trying to break below that level would require hours of strength training and a super clean diet, 7 days a week. I like to socialise and eat out once in a while, and I can only go to the gym 4 days/week, so it is not realistic that I will ever get below 120 lbs without more time to train and more commitment to eat clean.

One of my MFP friends is a figure competitor, she is 5'2" and when she was onstage competing, her weight was 112 lbs and 12% bodyfat. And she spent 2-3 hours a day working out to get in this shape!

Here's a photo of me at around 122 lbs:

    35iqik9.jpg

Is it 122 lbs as in 61 kg or 55 kg? You look great, I was just wondering, if you really weigh 55 kg?

just to keep something in mind guys, goal weight is very very arbitrary. For some, 105 might be great, for others it might be extremely low. A lot of this has to do with muscle density (not size, density), water volume (both intra-cellular and extra-cellular), and bone density. 2 people of the exact same measurements and the exact same body fat % can be up to 20 lbs different in weight depending on bone density and water volume. Be aware of this.

Don't worry so much about a weight number, I would focus on a body fat % and some goal numbers like run speed, endurance, strength (1 RM's for squats, flys, dead lifts, incline press), push up reps, pull up reps, lunges...etc. things like that. As these goals go up, your body shape will follow.

Just my 2 cents for the day.

    best luch to you.

You remind me so much of where I am right now. Just started 12 days ago and my last two days were terrible. I ate everything in sight until I was sick to my stomach. Today is a new day and you are inspiring me. Can you share with me how you kick started your journey and what kind of exercise you do?
