I need some help, and hopefully someone can help me :)
I consume 1200 calories a day, but My workouts burn 1400 calories
My question is, do I need to increase my calories if I am burning them all off.
Trying to get the scale to move in my favor.. argh! Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks

Absolutely. You should consume a NET of at least 1200 a day, so if you burn 1400, then eat 2600. Sounds scary, i know- but I promise you will lose weight. Don't send your body into starvation mode!

Yes. The defecit you need to lose weight is already figured in, which is why you're set at 1200. If you then exercise into negative Net intake, your body will eat your muscles for the fuel it needs to survive. Your net intake should be 1200 and net = Calories In minus Calories Out.

    Thanks!
  • And it's not just a calorie thing; make sure you're getting a proper balance of nutrition as well. Vitamins and minerals are extremely important to the metabolic pathways of your body working well.

A balanced diet with enough of all the right things will help prevent starvation mode.
