HCG and lifestyle changes

I am curious if anyone has tried the addition of HCG injections (under the care of a doctor) in combination with a healthy lifestyle change. If you have, are there any bad side effects? (And I am looking for people that have actually tried it vs reading up on it on google and giving me that information.)
I wanted to see if there are any real life people out there that have tried and used it successfully or used it and had side effects...

Why do it?? You live off like 500 calories a day. What's the point? If I only ate 500 cals a day I'd lose too. If you are going to have a healthy lifestyle why the need for another gimmick for quick and not lasting weight loss that is neither healthy for you nor is it safe?0

I feel like I'm saying this for the hundredth time. Maybe I am. Anyway--
I know 7 people who did HCG injections. All but one gained back their weight (she told me the other day she was ordering more shots soon so that she could cheat for awhile without worrying about it, so that number is about to be 0). 2 of them do regular cycles of injections ($130 each round) to keep off the weight that keeps coming back. None are able to properly metabolize sugar. Some experienced major hair loss. All experienced loss of muscle tone. The one who started it first, my father in law, has been cut off by the clinic because he's had 8 rounds in the past year and the FDA is looking into the clinic. No one has worked with him on a healthy eating plan. He followed the HCG protocol until the end of the reintegration phase, gradually added sugar back into his diet just like he was supposed to, and still manages to gain back the same 40 lbs every time. Also everyone noticed that weight gain happens MUCH faster than normal after having done rounds. They can gain 1 lb a day without even going over the 1500 cals they're supposed to be able to eat. Don't do it-- it's not synonymous with healthy.0 -
OP...just curious....after learning the above, are you still considering it? not going to flame you...I would really like to know

Sounds like it's easier to eat a healthy diet and get some exercise. I couldn't survive on 500 cals LOL0

My mom is doing the diet and she's had success-but I keep telling her it won't last. She was extremely large and needed to take alot of weight off quickly (heart issues) and is working with a doctor to change eating, lifestyle habits. I am hoping it works, but I don't feel good about it. I would touch the diet-I've seen too many people immediately gain the weight back and I'd be miserable on 500 calories-she can hardly eat a thing.0

The programs I am talking about do not abide by the 500 calorie a day limits. They require a 1000-1200 caloric intake as well a healthy eating guides and instructions .I have a couple of people I know who have done it and they had no side effects (they did the 500 caloric intake program however which seems unhealthy to me as well) and they have kept off the weight.
