Lost weight the first 3 weeks, then gained on the 4th. What

I started this program just after X-mas and was really excited about it! I lost about 1.5 lbs the first and second week, then 1 lb the 3rd week. I weighed myselft today and I gained about 2.5 lbs!!! WTF?

I'm working out about 3-4 times a week and I'm within the caloric intake (occasionally over I admit. It was my Birthday yesterday!) But overall I think doing pretty good, or at least I thought I was.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if this is a normal thing that can happen.

I am very discouraged..... :sad: . Anyone else have this happen to them?

Any advice??

    Don't lose hope! Have you checked your sodium intake for the week? Where are you in your cycle? Have you done your measurements? How are your clothes fitting? Your weight fluctuates quite a bit from day to day. Just keep at it and you will see results soon!

    Don't get discouraged! It's water weight. Keep plugging away and it will go back down. Our weight can fluctuate quite a bit. :smile:

    Keep in mind that muscle is heavier than fat, so it could be that you're gaining muscle, which is a good thing!
