First 50 was lost with NO exercise. I added exercise because I wanted to eat more. But I am proof that counting calories alone CAN get you a good way down the path.0

Absolutely. Your calorie intake will drive your weight gain or loss. Exercise drives fitness and strength.0

The last 10 pounds I lost was all diet.....Not the best diet, but I didn't work out for 3 months.0

I lost my first 10 lbs just by counting calories. Then I got excited and started exercising to get in better shape along with the weightloss. You can definitely lose weight through diet alone. :-)0

good to know that you can lose weight without exercise. i am having back surgery mid February and will not be able to exercise for at least a month. So now i wont stress as much. But I usually work out at least 1 hour a day at it will help your weight loss and it also makes you feel better.0

My first 20 pounds was all diet, and now I know I need exercise if I want to get rid of the extra's and I want to be tonned and strength-So I have joined a gym-I do Zumba and Spining, and walk-0

In the past I have always lost my "after baby weight" strictly from lowering my caloric intake. I didn't start exercising until in reached my late 30's because I like being able to eat more food and still be able to lose weight. LOL0

I lost almost 25 lbs last year with diet alone. But it was hard. I never got to eat any of the things I loved and it definitely wasn't a lifetime change. If you want to lose weight and keep it off forever I'd recommend getting some exercise as well. Even a little will help. And honestly since I started exercising I feel amazing.0

So, what did u guys have ur calorie allowance set at??0

I believe 1460 was my initial calorie number. That's what MFP gave me to lose 2 lbs/week. I lost much faster than that in the beginning.0
