My name is Miranda; some call me Andi. I’m 22 years old and I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend & our two cats. I grew up overweight and at my heaviest, I was 225lbs. That’s pure guess because I didn’t weigh myself that often at that age [15/16]. Since then, I’ve lost quite a bit of weight. I was down to 160lbs during the summer of 2010. But that fall, I started college and slacked off which caused me to gain back 20lbs.

However, I’m DETERMINED to get to a healthy weight. Why? Not just to be thin; that’s great and all but it’s more about my health. I have epilepsy and I’ve noticed that the more weight I’ve lost, the less frequent my seizures have become. In addition, both my dad and his brother have diabetes. I want to minimize my risk as much as possible. I also have history of heart problems on both sides of my family. So basically, if I want to live a long life, I need to become healthy. And what better time to start? Now! While it’s still “easy!” So this is my journey.

My current weight is 178lbs and my goal is to get to 125lbs by summertime.
