Ladies? Ladies,,, ?!?! There are guys here too ya' know. Hehehehe,,,

I cook smart, well planned/prepared meals of a known value, and I cook way too much. Then I put leftovers away in Gladware or suchlike containers and there's my lunches/snax/etc. already portioned out. Really very quick and easy - it takes no longer to make 6 quarts of soup than 2.

Pack lunch - I like Chef's salad (lettuce-tomato-ham-little cheese-lite ranch on the side). Dinner leftovers. Ham & thin sliced swiss cheese on wheat with tons of lettuce & tomato.

Welcome aboard, and good luck. You can do it :drinker:

Lots of great recipes and ideas in the recipes section of this forum - take a look!

    Welcome to MFP!!!

I'm still fairly new at this so it took me awhile to adjust to a new eating style. I usually pack my leftovers from the previous night when I have them....but more times than not, I have to pack a lunch just before I go out the door.

I try to keep things simple and what I mean by that is uncomplex foods. I'm just now discovering the wonderful tastes of foods that aren't smothered in sauces or cheese or foods that are made by my own hands rather than a strangers.

So, for breakfast it's usually oatmeal or eggs and fruit and coffee.

For lunch I will eat left overs from the previous night or a peanut butter sandwich (on homemade bread!) with an apple or banana, or some tuna fish, or a salad.

For dinner I usually eat lean meats like fish, chicken or beef with at least 3 veggie sides (fresh or frozen only).

There are lots of sites out there that can tell you portion sizes. I measure everything until I get to the point where I can "eyeball" it. At this point, I don't trust myself since over portioning is a culprit of my excess weight. A scale is less than $5 at Walmart.

A good rule of thumb is card or palm sized portions....and always read the labels!

    Good luck to you!! :flowerforyou:
