I started a beginning yoga class tonight.. when I went to enter it in my excercise area I came up with...
Hatha yoga (which I read was a more meditative yoga)176 calories for one hour... that doesn't seem right...
Does anyone know what the actual calorie burn would be?

I',m thinking that it's about the same... it also list stretching and some thing else, even if it's not exact. it's pretty close.0

Unless you wear a HRM, I would guess that it's close.0

I do hatha yoga and its not all meditative to me. I usually come out of there all stretched out and sweaty. Hatha IS about meditation but depending on the instructor, they have you doing some very hard/difficult poses which requires all of your strength and concentration.
I would think 200 calories is about right.0 -
Hatha Yoga is a general term for the physical part of Yoga. There are lots of differents types of Hatha, Iyengar, Bikram, Ashtanga, Sivinanda, etc. Some are more strenuous than others and a lot of it depends on the instructor and your level. If you're sweating and sore, you're probably burning more than what MFP says, however, I think it's generally pretty close.
Keep up the good work

You can google other sites to get estimates for various types of yoga.0
