Jogging on the spot V's C25K week 1

Hi all, wondered if there is truly any benefit to jogging on the spot ?
I've just started the Couch to 5K plan with my DD (aged 12) and it's raining today.. we were planning day 2 today as I'm out of the house from before 7am and not back till nearly 9pm tomorrow - too late to then take DD running.
We can go Tuesday or Wed but she suggested jogging on the Wii Fit.
Will this do the same thing as low level run / walk transitions in C25K?
Thanks,

If the room your game is in is big enough you don't have to run in place you can use free run and run in circles. I have tried it and it will help some but i find that i run a lot slower cause I'm inside.0

There is floor space to do this,
did 10 mins earlier but kept my speed up - will give it a go for a full 30.

I just came back from a run/jog in the rain. I had so much fun. I jumped in puddles and jumped over mud. I felt like a kid again, and I know it would have been even more fun with someone else! So I vote for putting on something waterproof-ish and heading outdoors with a smile on your face!0

Outside defo better! It's just lovely to get outside. I started C25K at the beginning of the month but got ill second week and had problems with my knees, which hopefully weren't due to the jogging. Going to start back at day 1 this week and see how it goes with the knees. Good luck! Friend me if you want to compare notes, I am hoping it will go better for me this time but if I have ongoing probs with my knees I might have to find an alternative exercise. Really hope not though!0

Yes, we did run outside yesterday and plan to it's just bitter and wet here today.
I have started a C25K support thread if you fancy dropping by - you may already have done so.Good luck with your re-start - hope you're knees ease off.. if you get pain again might be worth getting your trainers checked with your foot / tread as this can impact on joints if you've got the wrong trainers for the way you run. Sounds weird on here but if you research it you'll see what I mean or go to a good runnhing shop.
I did C25K 8 years ago - got me through my first fitness goal of running a 5K race.. all be it slowly. I never ran indoors on on a treadmill for any of that.0 -

lol sadly too late now as kids all bathed and ready for bed, but yes maybe I'll tempt her with a dirty wet run next time! lol I'd happily run in the rain as I ride in the rain and have never been too bothered... Ahh well she'll get there and spring is on it's way.
P.S. glad you enjoyed your muddy run! lol0
