Hello!

I've just started Power 90 and was wondering, should I have a protein drink only after the weights sessions or should I have one after the cardio too?

FYI - I'm using maximuscle pro diet lean definition.

I'll be taking the shake at around 7pm each night.

Who reckons the caffeine will keep me awake all night....?

It depends when you're getting to bed and how strong your tolerance for caffeine is on that point. Can't really say - 126mg wouldn't do anything to me, but then I got used to downing a Dr. Pepper a couple of hours before bed for many years.

Anyway, are the cardio and strength on different days? I'm not familiar with the program. If they are, I would say have one after the strength for sure, and after the cardio if you need it according to the macros for the day. If the workouts are on the same day, just have one when you're done - I can't imagine it'll be much fun doing cardio immediately after downing a protein shake.

You should always take a shake post workout, especially the weights as your muscles will be depleted and screaming for it.

Depends on the intensity of the cardio but it won't hurt to take one after that too.

You should look on the shake as food that is supplementing your existing diet.

I'm not a fan of the manufacturer of the shake you are proposing (I've used a couple in the past when I didn't know any better), once finished take a look at MyProtein.co.uk, great products and you will save money too.

Use this code and you will get 5% off your first order too: MP354864 :D

the problem with My Protein is that I need to be home to take delivery which is a huge pain. :-(

Is this just a poor product? It seems very high calorie to be honest but there wasn't much choice in the shop I went to.

To be honest most of them are around the 200cal mark per serving.

If you are loosing weight by diet I would just go for a standard whey protein, you don't need all the extra stuff they are 'filling' their products with, if you want green tea then drink it etc.

If you want to have very low cal protein then you need to go for an whey isolate product, almost no carbs and very pure but also the highest cost.
