Eating WAY Less

So I just got braces and quickly realized eating has become more of a chore and less of a hobby - which I love. However, in the process, I'm eating 500-600 calories less than my daily goal. I'm basically eating my three meals a day and maybe one snack, where I used to eat a snack in between each meal.
Is this really BAD for me? I know I've read my body might go into starvation mode but in the last few days, I think my body has gotten used to not having the snacks it used to. I definitely want to do what's right and I don't want to starve myself or sabatoge my weight loss, but it's either too much work or I'm finding I'm just less hungry than I used to be.
What do I do?

Based upon my 12 year-old son's experience...protein shakes and greek yogurt are your new best friend, particularly around adjustment days. He is eating more slowly in general, which is great because he's now realizing when he's full.0

I would suggest you really try to eat the calories that MFP has recommended for you without going very far under. ESPECIALLY, if you have MFP set to lose 2 lbs. per week... You don't want to go much faster than that, unless you want to start losing a lot of lean muscle along with the fat.
As was suggested, yogurt, protein shakes, and other soft foods will help you get your numbers where they should be.0 -
Unfortunately when I had my braces it didn't stop me from eating. If it had I wouldn't have gained so much weight through the years. The 12 year old who is learning to eat slowly is learing a great life long habit. If we eat slower we learn when to stop and not over stuff ourselves because we are eating too fast.0

I don't think eating 200 calories below what MFP suggests would be terrible.
However, 500-600 calories is A LOT, and probably too far below your daily goal.
I agree with the other posters about trying to eat a little more and eating yogurt, etc.0 -
It'll pass as you get used to the braces. Until then protein shakes, mashed potatoes and smoothies.0
