Hi, I am doing P90X I had to restart this month after getting through to 70 days, I missed most of 2 weeks with a work trip, holidays and kids sports commitments. I really do like it and struggle a little but also have come a long way with weight amounts, and reps on just about everything. Still a challenge but fun.

That said I am thinking about getting P90X2 for when I am done with the first one, anyone doing it and what can you tell me about it?

Out of all the P90X workouts, Ply is the hardest for me, my legs just say NO WAY after a while and I have to modify toward to end of the workout. There seems to be a lot more jumping and stuff in the second version. Is there?

If you struggle with P90X, you should do at least 2 rounds of it..before P90X2. That was Carl Daikelers recommendation last yeat at the Beachbody Summit. P90X2 can be very dangerous if you are not ready for (and even if you are)

If you want to know more feel free to ask. :)

I have a friend who is going through his P90x2 program right now and loving it. I would perhaps say that you should wait until you're done with the first program until you think about moving on though. The original program is meant to take you the distance and keep you working. That's why they have three different modes to P90x, classic, lean and doubles. I started with classic before a knee injury and I hope to make it through that program to build muscle... then take a spin through lean to work up endurance and cardio.

But here's his blog if you're interested... I think he's into day 30!

Thanks! I actually do intend on finishing the first one completely before starting the next one, I was just wondering what the second one is like. It seems like from the dvd descriptions I am going to have a hard time NOT losing weight which is bad for me, I can not afford to lose, I would like to see a small gain.

I have a knee issue I deal with and found the Plyo in P90X2 more "do-able". I like it better, as I had less things to modify.

Not to say I was not doing the entire original plyo, I have been consistently doing the entire thing - except for hot potatoe - I cannot do the one legged jumps on my "bad" knee well. But I have also done plyo many times, (7 rounds of P90X total) and do it with wrist and ankle weights.

P90x2 also has a one legged jumping move, but overall there are less moves of that type repeated vs the original P90X plyo.

I do also feel though, that one should complete P90X classic twice before moving to P90X2. Many moves are based on the strength and balance gains you should be getting from P90X. And also you should have completed P90X enough to learn very good form on all moves before moving on.

P90X2 uses lots more balance combined with strength moves, and moves on unstable surfaces. If you do not have a basis of good form, and some good core strength, and muscle strength in other areas, P90X2 can certainly knock you for a loop, and I can see a higher injury risk.

    I do enjoy P90X2 quite a bit.

After starting P90X2 I made a decision to mixup both programs.

I'm doing P90X2! Did several rounds of P90X last year, and decided to step it up and do P90X2. It's been a real challenge and is definitely helping me rebuild my core after having two babies. I love it though.... it's doing amazing things for my bod
