Greek yogurt question

Does it freeze well? I was thinking of trying something with it, but I don't want to waste my time if it is going to turn out nasty.

I didn't use to have to bump my own posts just to get an answer to my questions.0

Yeah, I was thinking of making chocolate soft serve with Greek yogurt and chocolate protein powder. But I didn't know if the yogurt would freeze right. Oh well... trial and error it is.0

Her trick to smooth and creamy frozen yogurt (and she uses greek, yay!) is the stirring process. Obviously, you can swap out the blueberries and lemon juice and probably play around with the sugar amount, but the idea is there. I haven't made it yet, but it's on my list of recipes to try.0 -
The only two kinds I like are the pineapple and strawberry. The Greek yogurts have a different consistency that is similar to sour cream. A friend recommend these two flavors to me but I thought I'd try the plain...it was very, very plain. Another friend suggested putting a little flavored Stevia (the liquid kind) in it to make it taste as good as the fruit flavored. I'm going to try that. Hope this helps!0

I haven't tried Greek yogurt but I do regularly make simple frozen yogurt using nonfat plain yogurt. The only problem is it freezes hard as a rock, so I put in a small dash (maybe a tablespoon) of vodka, and it doesn't freeze so hard. I've read though that Greek works much better.0

I froze it. Took one bite and then threw it out. I even tried it with the Jello sugar-free cheesecake like someone else mentioned. I can't stand Greek yogurt. The consistancy is horrible. However, I will use it in recipes just can't eat it out the little tub.0

You should be able to freeze any yogurt just fine. If you wanted, you could fill an ice cream maker about 2/3s full with yogurt, run it, and have frozen yogurt.
I have to admit, though, that I haven't tried it with the Greek yogurt - they come in such small sizes! Good luck!
