I recently heard about the widowmaker set concerning squats (20 rep squats). Is there any advantage to doing this than a usual set (like 5 x 5)?

Muscle fatigue is pretty much guaranteed with the 20 rep set, yet wouldn't be smart for a starter. It would mostly depend on your goal but give it a try regardless, its a lot of ..."fun"
I train with auto-regulation so the 20 rep sets don't really work well for me, though i will throw them in for a week or two if i ever feel like i am losing stamina or speed in a particular lift.0 -
Oh okay. I've been doing 6 sets of 5 reps for the past 6 months and was trying to see if this change up would be beneficial. I've been getting mixed google results so I thought I would ask the MFP community.0
