medical problems and trying to workout.

hi everyone, i was just wondering if anyone else has medical problems and trying to lose weight too. before i started my weight lose journey in 2008, i was in a serious car accident in 2002 with a hand and neck injury. plus i had a messed up wrist and shoulder for a long time. this was all in ohio where i lived. when i moved to illinois in 2008. i kept doing alot of activities to keep myself busy. i kept going to the chiopractor alot. when i was in ohio i've went to my doctor about my wrist. he said i will always have problems with it. will i went to a doctor just last month. she sent me to have some tests done on my nerves in my wrist, neck and shoulder. sorry i keep going back to ohio, but that is where everything happened, my right shoulder was broken by my ex- husband long time ago. pnow back to reality. i also had a ct can done on my spine, neck and shoulder. the results shows that my neck is straight, a deotraitating bulging disc with bone spurs on it. then on my wrist i have a mass on it which is a tumor. plus i am bipolar, depression, anxiety, and plus i also have post tramatic stress diorder. i'm on medicines for everything. when i started taking these med. i lost 75lbs. but now i've gain 38lbs. back. but i'm trying again. i've my ups and downs. but i'm mainly very mad and frustrated.

This is a tough situation... Have you shared your health goals with your doctors? Maybe ask them to refer you to a physical therapist, who might be able to help you find exercises that work with your strengths and challenges. Do you see a therapist for your mental health needs? Perhaps you could include your health goals in your sessions with your therapist.
I do have some medical issues, not similar to yours...and I've been slowly losing weight. I didn't need to lose weight for serious health reasons (I was in the "mildly overweight" category before, so my weight wasn't really threatening my health). But working towards weight-loss goals has made me feel more in control of my body and health, which has felt liberating. During times when I've had health flare-ups...honestly, then I've just focused more on healthy eating & moderate portions than on exercise if I feel really crappy. But seeing the results makes me want to exercise my new more svelte body...like I want to feel as healthy as I'm starting to look.0 -

I'd second the suggestion to ask for a referral to a physiotherapist to get some advice on the best kind of exercise that you can do without stirring up your existing injuries. Often exercising in water is very good because it supports your weight, but get some professional advice about what is safe and recommended for you.

Edited to add: well done for keeping motivated to improve your health, it can't be easy with all of those things going on. And on a positive note, I find that exercising does sooooo much to improve my mood, I really miss it now if I don't get to move.0
