Why am I here? That's what I'm asking myself right now. I've never really been concerned about my weight, but....
I'm in the military, and sure, I've always been a bit over the weight standards, but whenever I knew we were gonna have a weight-in, I'd do a crash diet for a couple weeks before hand to be in regulation. Afterwards of course, I'd go back to eating whatever and such. Like I said, I never really used to be concerned about it, figured I was "good enough". Then last April (2011), I had a heart attack while working out; I'm only 35 years old. Turns out my cholesterol was through the roof! After getting out of the hospital, changed my diet up completely: whole grains, more fish/chicken, less red meat, no processed foods, etc. For the first few months this was working great for me, losing weight steadily and just feeling healthier overall. The last couple months however, the weight has started coming back. Who knew it was possible to put on weight while eating healthy? Too much food is too much food, regardless of whether it's Burger King or broiled salmon and brown rice, eh?
My dietician recommended this site as a way to help track my daily intake, and over the last 2 weeks, I've been doing a lot better with how much I eat, even have started losing weight again! (Only 2lbs so far, but still...) I'm currently at 225 and am looking to hit 200, and we'll see where to go from there.
