I find I weight myself daily and sometimes a few times at night to make sure I havent gained an ounce. If I do happen to gain .5 ounces I pop in a workout video and kill myself.
Any advice on how I can over come this??

If I was torturing myself like this, I would probably need to pitch the scale, and only weigh like once a month or something. The number on your scale should not be consuming you like this. There are so many other, positive things to focus on, like making yummy food that makes your body feel energetic and healthy, or taking a walk that gets you outside, doing strength training that makes you feel powerful, etc.0

I weigh myself in the morning after using the restroom because that is when you are supposed to....I do sometimes weigh myself at night just to see what the difference is from night to day.....I know I shouldnt because I tend to be about 2-3 lbs more at night. Im not sure how you can stop weighing yourself all the time but I would have to say dont worry about .5 lbs or ever 5 lbs difference during the day...your weight will change because you eating, drinking, sodium intake during the day, ect....dont panic and kill yourself working out so much because then you will just hurt yourself/you muscles....you need to be able to recover from work outs.0

I thought about taking out the batteries and sticking it in the closet for a while but I know I will get it right out and put the batteries back in it. I feel that I have worked so hard and Im so affraid those pounds will creep right back on me.
Thanks for the suggestions/advice! I may need to have someone hide it from me. lol0 -
...make a schedule and stick to it. I have a "fitness" calendar on google calendar and set my weigh in days to every two weeks. it relieves me of all my stress when it comes to weighing in. You have to realize, those slight changes in weight is nothing more than water weight and mean nothing at all. Those changes are not sustainable or long-term, minor fluctuations that mean nothing, like the stock market. Make a schedule, stick to it, and focus your energy on diet and other things. hope this helps.

just stop weighing yourself
I was working out the other day (last week) and just said if I work out and eat right I will lose weight, it doesn't matter about the scale it matters what we put in to our bodies and exercise. I was weighing myself 4 times a day, once in the morning, once before my workout, once after my workout (and the days that i weighed more after i weighed out i was disappointed), and once before I went to bed to see how much i would weigh in the morning (usually 2lbs less). This week has gone by without much problems for me, but today I really wanted to weigh in, but I couldnt because I gave my scale to my mom to hide for me, yes i have a spare scale BUT it's not digital and it's not very accurate but I didn't step on the scale.
Do NOT sweat the extra few ounces, we all vary in weigh anywhere from 1-5lbs in any given day just depends on what time of the month it is, what you ate, how much sodium you had, what you drank.
just give your scale to someone who will hide it from you or just say No, I'm tired of this, I'm tired of letting the scale tell me when I can be happy and when I can be unhappy, don't judge how you feel off of the number on the scale, but rather by how you feel
Hope I helped you in some way0 -
It is SO easy to get obsessed with it. I used to weigh myself like 10 times a day... I got over it by sticking a post-it note on my scale saying "You already weighed in today!! Wait until tomorrow!!" as a little annoying reminder to myself. It made me do a double take instead of automatically hoping on every time I was in the bathroom. (Be it for a pee or a shower or whatever) I still weigh in daily which is more than a lot of people recommend but it works for me so hey whatever0

I find myself weighing in a couple times a week and the scale stays around the same 1 to 2 pounds. your weight fluctuates too much for you to constantly be focusing on a number that is not accurate. the most you should weigh your self is once a week. if you can't do this then only focus on the number that is on the scale the day that you intend to weigh in on.0
