Vinegar helps cool the skin.
Aloe will keep the skin from tightening up too much.
Motrin to reduce swelling.
^^I use all three.
Wear sunblock next time!0 -
if you have aftersun, keep it in the fridge0

not sure if you can get it where you live, but "panthenol" is the best thing ever invented for sunburns.0

I envy you right now sooo much
no sun for me today! or tomorrow
raind and cold and some more rain...0 -
This will sound strange but it actually works. Take a vitamin E capsule and break it open spreading the gel on the sunburn. It will turn into a tan overnight.0

usiing aloe is the best
and make sure to wear white shirts.....as they let the heat from the burn leave your body easier.

The absolute BEST home remedy...
Noxema....
Get the original formula - lather it on... once it dries, put another layer on. Keep doing this for the first few hours and then leave it on there until you are ready to take your shower and head to bed.
This helps keep the skin hydrated (water IN the body to help replenish the skin), reduces the heat-intensity greatly.
Ive been using this since I was 5 years old (32 years), I have an extreme sensitivity to sun and burn extremely easy unfortunately being naturally white 'as a ghost'... Some of the best SPF's out there, Ive proven they dont work despite the several applications... so Im usually that one person in a crowd at NASCAR you will see fully clothed because I have no choice!0 -
Sun burn? I'd much rather have been sunburned today than getting as cold as I did this morning!0

Aloe Vera gel is awesome stuff, just a little sticky as it dries. As a general rule of thumb, if your skin soaks it all up within a couple of minutes, I apply more until it slows down.0

What I use is Aspirin (Acetylsalicylic acid) to reduce swelling and reduce the pain.0

I went to the beach a few years ago and was burnt to a crisp. I was a lobster. I am serious. I used vinegar. I sprayed it all over me and I came out smelling like a salad. I also washed with a dial WHITE TEA soap. I drank white tea and water like crazy. I used COLD aloe and I used an after sun from Mary Kay. I took ibuprofen too. As much as you can. I was at the beach the next day. Another thing I found this past year that works is Noxema. It will take the sting out. It brings the burn up and out of your skin so you will heal fast. I sear by this now. It is now part of my MUST HAVE when I go to the beach. I always have it in my house.0

I totally agree with the vinegar...if you put some in your bath water it really takes the sting out of the sunburn.0 -

Moist tea bags...the tanic (sp?) acid helps neutralize the burning sensation. They have saved this "ginger" on more than one occasion...0
