In just two weeks I'm going to a "London Prepares" event at the Olympic velodrome - the opening day of the World Track Cycling Championships. For the games themselves, I only managed to get tickets for the artistic gymnastics, but that's a great event to get! I may even take the afternoon off to see the torch come though my home town. That'll be quite a change, the last time my home town was in the news was during the riots!

I love watching Olympics. We have 2 women in the 400m from my province. Track events are my fav.

I have to say, one of the things that's keeping me going through my marathon training is the fact I'll never again get the opportunity to run it in an Olympic city in an Olympic year. I bet the atmosphere will be amazing! Though a bit lacking in elite runners, maybe...

The other is my number's 11111 and who am I to question fate?

Not at all. Travel around my area is going to be greatly disrupted and the Archery and Shooting are about 5 minutes from my front door so my area is going to be full of tourists. Aaaaand they haven't built any of the promised public sporting facilities, so it's all been paid for by residents that get nothing from it.

Very excited! Got tickets for the last athletics session (which includes the men's 200m relay) and the ladies football final (perfect for my footballing girls). I'm already enjoying the new shopping and restaurant facilities at Stratford!
