**P90X Group Challenge!** WHO IS IN?!

Ladies, let's start a P90X challenge! I've been looking for people to start P90X with me, to stay motivated and on top of things!

I was thinking I could make a Weigh-In chart to keep us motivated and something to keep looking forward too.
So here's what I've come up with:

1. Send me your weight, measurements, and what week you are on.
2. Every week we will weigh in on Friday mornings. (before the weekend, oh yes lol)
3. Every 2 weeks, send me measurements.
4. OPTIONAL: Post 30, 60, and 90 day pictures.

WE WILL USE THIS THREAD TO KEEP IN CONTACT AND SEND WEIGHT AND MEASUREMENTS!

WHO IS IN!?!? I am starting Week 3 today. The challenge is for anyone about to start or already into p90x.

*I would like to keep this group pretty minimal. Maybe 10-12 constant people tops!*

PLEASE MESSAGE ME OR WRITE ON THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!!

    Me! I'm finishing up my last week of Insanity and then going into the Insanity/P90X hybrid program. It runs for 90 days like P90X. Would love to stay updated with others doing it as well! Would we all start on the same date? Or just have our weigh ins the same?

    Day 17 of P90X, and still so sore I can barely move...definitely need the companionship/motivation/support! (also, I'm vegetarian, so the diet is nearly impossible--I tried, but ended up gaining pounds and inches in the first two weeks).

    Because i'm already into it, we would start on different days. I will just write down what day or week u are on your current weight and then keep going from there! :) Just mainly looking for people to stick to the program with me by making a chart for results! :)

    I would love too! I just finished Insanity and loved it. My plan is to begin Thursday. ( I was going to start Monday But my kids got sick and now I'm fighting it off!!) :bigsmile:
  • Well, you only mention Ladies. So can the men join this as well? I have done P90X once, but I am wanting to do it again. This may be the motivation I need to get my butt moving again with this.

    HIPS (INCHES)
    WAIST (INCHES)
    LEGS (INCHES - THEY MIGHT BE DIFFERENT, BUT JUST USE ONE)
    ARMS (INCHES - THEY MIGHT BE DIFFERENT, JUST USE ONE)

    AND I WILL START THE CHARTS TOMORROW! :)

    Guess it helps if I read the whole thing, not sure how I missed the very first word....kinda crucial to who this was directed toward. I now bow out of this convo with a little less appeal but a noticeably larger amount of shame.

    I have always wanted to start but I do not have means to do the chin up / pull ups from home... what is everyone using for this?

    I use the bands and sometimes even weights! EVERYTHING CAN BE MODIFIED TO FIT YOU! It's great!

    I'm on day 18, also vegetarian so I didn't even bother looking at the diet plan as I knew it would never work. I'm not noticing much of a change in my looks but my strength, agility, flexibility and everything have improved so much already.

    you can get pretty cheap chinup bars at walmart or a sports store...i have one and it works great

    I use a resistance band and wrap it around the frame of my bed, if you lean forward into it, your body is in the exact position of a chin up and it works really well. Obviously your not lifting your whole body weight but if you focus and hold the move for a couple of seconds when you pull, you really feel the muscles in your back working

    The great thing about weight-based exercises is you don't have to do them all at once to see results. If you have absolutely no way you can do the pull-ups/chin-ups right now, skip them (do something like upright rows while the video is playing, so you're not just standing around doing nothing) and then take a walk to the park later to do some on some of the kid's play equipment there.

    The best alternative has already been mentioned though; resistance bands. They almost always come with a door anchor, so you can perform the alternative exercise anywhere you have access to a door.

    Thanks for the info girls... going to go and pick up something this weekend to see what we can create...

    Finished basement is making the rigging thing a little difficult...

    Is it ok if I start on Monday?

    I love the idea of going to the park, but in Ontario - Canada - we are in the middle of winter... very cold outside, but a great idea none the less! :)

    HI ladies! I've been MIA the past 2-3 days! I had some family come in town and it threw everything off here in MFP world! SO alrighty..NO NOBODY IS LATE! I will make the very first chart this morning. We will have our weigh-in's on Friday and check for inches lost every OTHER week. Starting this coming up friday (4/10/12). It does not matter what day u are on or what week you are on..i am just doing a general weight loss/inches chart and just keep filling it in. I will make it a small challenge and honor the person with the most weight loss and inches each week. SO it should be a different winner every week! I will post a chart in a little while and show you what exactly it will look like!

    ALRIGHTY..SO I ALL I NEED FROM YOU GIRLS, ARE YOUR WEIGHT AND MEASUREMENTS IF YOU HAVE NOT SENT THEM TO ME!

    EXAMPLE:

    CW: 160
    GW: 135
    HIPS: 43.0
    WAIST: 32.0
    THIGH: 25.0
    ARM: 12.5

    Just send me something like this for our weigh-in's (with your own weight and measurements, of course) and we will get started!

    Hi,
    I am starting tomorrow.

    We two hung hooks from the ceiling in the basement and I will pull with my resistance bands from the hooks.... approx shoulder width apart.... hoping this is the trick to get the effect I need to make shift pulls ups...

    How is everyone doing?

    how do you record your workouts with p90x?

    I have a watch that will tell me my heart rate but not calories burned etc... its a pedometer watch.

    Anyone know how to figure out calories from just your heart rate??? is there a simple math formula?

    I think I started the first week with the wrong schedule... who is doing which?

    I have P90 and started, what I know now is the hybrid schedule.... I think I want to do the lean...

    Can anyone shed light into which is better for what?

    I think this monday coming I will switch and start a new week with the new schedule.
