Hello all!

I just joined mfp late last week and have already read SOOO much about Jillian's 30 Day Shred and the success people have had with it. I am not much of an exerciser and am trying to get into it by experimenting with different things and seeing what works. I plan to start doing it tomorrow, so I was just wondering, for those who have done the shred, how many times a week you did it and what kinds of results you saw? I appreciate everyone's help :)

At first I did it 4-5 times a week, as my schedule (and sore muscles) allowed. It took me longer than 30 days to get through all the levels, and at some point I started adding other DVDs and alternating days. I dropped a whole pants size, was very pleased with the results, and the newfound strength & endurance it gave me.

I will say for your first run through - take it easy! Use a very light weights, 2 or 3lbs, or skip them altogether at first. I used what I had the first time through (5lbs) and pushed myself through the whole workout - it's only 20 minutes, right? I have never been so sore in my entire life! I could barely walk for three days, and had to wait that long before I could do the workout again. You will see your flexibility, strength and endurance build up quickly, but take it easy the first couple of times - it's a killer.

I love the shred! I followed Jillian's online plan. 2 day shred, 1 day off, 2 day shred, 1 day aerobic activity of my choice, 1 day rest. Awesome! Just as an fyi...It took my body about a week to adjust. I didn't start dropping weight for about a week and my sleep was messed up for alittle less than a week. Your body just needs time to adjust to the higher level of workout because it's a bit of a shock to the system. It's a bit tough the first few days, but you'll notice it gets easier! Good luck!

I'm just starting it also. I havent decided exactly how much I'm going to do it. I had a rough morning and havent been sleeping well so I pretty much cried through it. I didnt want to be doing it. (Not because it was too hard. Dont want to scare you). Its definitely a challenge worth taking on. Just dont do it on 8 hours of sleep in 2 days. LOL. Now I just need to figure out how to log it. Anyone have any suggestions there?

The first time I did 30DS I did it in about 40 days. I did not lose a lot of weight (about 5 lbs) but I lost 9 inches (waist, hips, chest, thighs) and was noticeably more toned.
I still do 30DS, though only for my days I can't get to the gym and need something more than just cardio.

I love the Shred...though it wasn't key in my weight loss as I was fairly fit, exercise wise (just had to start tweaking that diet!) I use it when I'm tight on time and need to get some muscle workout in with cardio. You will sweat! Have water handy!
