Can't lose another pound, in desperate need for help.

I admit I don't exercise much, but I honestly don't eat much either. My diary isn't private so feel free to look at it and offer some suggestions. I really want to lose 5 pounds by the end of Feb. Willing to do anything.

I have a six year old that eats more in one meal than you eat all day. What you are doing is dangerously unhealthy.

Yikes, you're only averaging one meal a day. You need to eat more. I know the whole "starvation mode" thing is really controversial, but my dear, you qualify. Your body is most likely hoarding all of your body fat because you're not giving it enough to function. As odd as it sounds, eat more, and you should start losing weight. You might see an initial gain, but then it'll start going down. Start by eating breakfast, which should help immensely.

You sleep all day, and read all night. There's plenty of time for exercise. And plenty of time to learn to cook and EAT dammit!

Holy crap, you're not eating anywhere NEAR enough -- and you're losing muscle!!

If you're willing to do "anything" to lose 5 lbs in February, you're going to have to EAT more. I know it sounds scary and counter-intuitive, but DO it. You'll feel better and actually see results.

Actually I don't do that anymore. That was over Christmas break, the semester started so I'm going to school and working 3 days a week and I do exercise now.

Good! Now get some quality food and eat it. You'll need A LOT more protein than you're getting...

What's with only having green tea? Why are you fasting? For the record, I support Intermittent Fasting and do it myself, but I also consume a lot more calories (and protein!) per day than you are. Fasting is NOT a good idea for you at this point.
  • Willing to do anything?
Change your goal to 0.5-1lbs loss per week and eat every calorie they tell you! MFP already sets a calorie deficit before exercise and if you aren't exercising that calorie deficit should be enough.

Most important EAT, EAT, EAT!!!!!!!! You aren't eating nearly enough

I wanted to fast, but you are right it was a bad idea. That why it only lasted one day. :P lol

people are criticising this terribly, if you wanna lose weight like this then it's no one elses place to tell you different.

I did a diet like that last year, and basically you need to raise your calorie intake for a few days and for some reason it raises your metabolism, not saying you have to stick to it if you dont want too but you should eat around 1,200 for 3-4 days and you're metabolism should freak out and kick start :) works for me.

Oh but i must add that obviously don't fast hahaha, it's not good :)

Yesterday you had a whopping zero calories! "day 1 of green tea diet" That sounds brutal. You eat between 0-500 calories most days. I think starvation mode is unwarranted most of the time when it's thrown around here, but you could quite honestly be the poster child of starvation mode.

Do you realize by not eating right or enough your body is storing what you eat as fat? Shells and cheese, cornbread, cake, frosting, brownies aren't going to help you lose weight. You need to eat more and healthier. Not eating is not going to help you lose weight.

If somebody's doing something that could lead them to be hospitalized or worse and they ASKED FOR HELP, then yes, it is my place.

Her metabolism is already freaking out....because she's starving herself. You should eat a minimum of 1200 cals EVERY day...if you're going to spike it up some days...go above that, but stop the fasting and 6-800 calorie days, it's going to work against you. It's not helpful to starve yourself thin.

To be honest I am hoping you are a troll. Otherwise you are headed for a hospital stay the way you are going.

Sounds like you may have an eating disorder. You should talk to your doctor about your diet and what would be best for your weight loss goals.

Word of warning, you will develop lots of health problems that will make your weight loss not worth it. Malnourishment is not a joke, you may loose weight, but you are likely to loose teeth and hair, have skin problems, and be sickly. A healthy body is beautiful, a malnourished one is not.

Please go to the doctor. It sounds like all you need to do is eat between 1200 - 1300 calories and exercise for the body you want. Infact it sounds like you shouldn't lose weight, but tone your body instead.

Yes it is right to criticise this is bad for you. This is not a pro Anna site. The aim is to eat well and live well.

This has got to be a troll.

I can tell you I lost weight like this when I was around your age. Barely eating, I maintained 115-125 throughout most of college this way. I would put on weight, then it would come off quickly by essentially starving myself. In the long run, I never actually changed my lifestyle and it is a horrible routine to get into to.

As you get older, this just doesn't work and it is terrible for you. Even at your age now, it seems to have stopped working. You want to find a diet that you can easily do the rest of your life. Not a diet to lose weight, just one to be healthy. You find that for yourself and you will be able to easily drop the weight and maintain it forever. Otherwiese, the cycle of weight gain will always be there and for a lot of people things get out of control at some point in their life and they find themselves needing to lose a lot more then 30 lbs.

Focus on eating healthier. Make sure to go over your protein limit set each day. That should help you get to the calorie goal and along with the weight loss. Eat meat, seafood, chicken, nuts, beans, eggs, and dairy. All with higher protein amounts and calories. If you still can't eat it, maybe try protein shakes.

    Good luck!

there is a big difference between fad diets and eating disorders. eating disorders are in your mind, ive done plenty of diets like this and theres no denying you do put weight on if you randomly start eating normally again, but they work & if you do them carefully then it's fine. even britians fattest man had to go on a 500 calorie diet.

kid, you need to work out. that's all there is to it.
  • I know exercise may not be something you do often, but if you add 30 minutes of exercise (walking) daily to boost your metabolism maybe the weight will come off.

Do yourself a favor and don't take advice from other people that say it's OK to starve yourself, such as this person.

Simply increasing the amount of calorie deficit when it's already far too much is just plain silly. She needs to eat more.

Jebuz Christ chick... starving yourself isn't going to help you. I'm going to guess you are troll (or at least hope that you are) ...I eat more at breakfast than you do the whole freaking day!!!

Honestly, go to your doctor and get some help, ask him/her what you should be doing/eating. Everyone on MFP can chime in and tell you want you should be doing and give you their opinions... but I seriously doubt you will take anyone's advice. =/

Anybody supporting or encouraging this is disgusting. You simply can't get enough nutrients from your food eating so little to maintain your health, calories aside. Stop promoting eating disorders. To the OP - you really need to start eating more. If you feel bad about that, focus your eating on fruit because they contain a lot of nutrition beneficial to you and will help you get to your calorie goal quite quickly.
