I have to say that I have noticed that when I workout (heavier cardio) first thing in the morning that I truly see better results on the scale and NSV.
Next, I try to do cardio heavy and anaerobic excercises in the AM and strength training (if I'm not exhausted at night) and it somehow got me off a plateu I was on for a month. It could be that I just switched it up and my body can't adjust right now (I'm okay with losing weight and pants sizes).
Further, I have to tell you guys that WALKING at least 2 miles a day (I walked 6 yesterday) in conjunction to anything else I do has given me even more results as far as the scale goes. I am amazed by this, I live in a cold weather climate and couldn't walk the dog that much in December and I didn't lose anything but .2 pounds in a 4 week period. I started cardio in the AM, walking at lunch or walking the dog in the evening and I started to lose (3.5 pounds).
What time of day is best for you and your lifestyle? What have your results been lately?

I only exercise after 6pm as i've heard that your body burns more fat after a workout if you go to bed and sleep afterwards0

The only time I can work out is right after work at 3:30. then I go home and eat supper. Not sure if it makes a different when you workout.
I always find I am starving after too, even if I have a snack before hand0 -
I just started C25K....I get up at around 5ish (am). Works best for me.0

Not true. You are going to burn the same amount of (extra) calories (or fat) after a workout regardless of whether you are sleeping or not.0 -
I am doing a walk in the morning before work around 4.5 kilometres (2.8 miles). This basically gets me awake and ready for the day. Some days I do a similar walk around lunchtime (work permitting) or evening, if not walking then I am on the bike or cross trainer at home. Other evenings I am tenpin bowling instead. I expect this to change next Monday when I have my first personal training session at my new gym.0

levels of plasma tesosterone are higher in the morning,so I usually workout then ( but I'm not sure sure if it makes a significant difference to the quality of the workout.)0

I exercise after my wife and I get the kids into bed, usually starting around 8:30PM. I cannot get up early in the morning, no matter how hard I try. It's just a matter of convenience and fitting my (our) lifestyle.
Most of my exercise is either running or simple strength training at home. The only time the "lateness" of my working out is an issue is if I wanted to go to the gym (the free gym through my health insurance is only open until 10:00. It's free. So before anyone says it, no, I'm not paying for a 24-hour gym when I get one for free. And what I get at home seems to have worked...)0 -
5 to 6am on my run days.
7am on my gym days (only cos the gym opens at 7am otherwise it would be earlier)
It doesnt matter what time of day you train for calories, fat burn and all that old adage stuff, time of day is when it suits you and you feel the best.
Your BMR will stay the same regardless of the time of day and so will your calorie burn for a given exercise.
Also some people say working out on a empty stomach first things burns more fat, well you need to workout for at least 30 to 45 mins before fat burn kicks in whatever time of day you are in as the stored glycogen is often enough, unless you do real intense stuff like interval when it may kick in earlier
find a time that suits you and you feel you work the best and thats the best time to workout.

I exercise at all hours of the day, and sometimes I do Two-a-Days. I like to hit the gym in the morning and do weights and cardio, I have a pilates class at 9 am twice a week and I like to do running and/or weights/cardio at the gym in the evenings.
I think any time you can get some exercise in is a good thing. I don’t keep myself pinned down to a particular time.
EDIT:
I will say that working out early in the morning (I usually hit the gym or go running around 5 am) helps keep me in-line (mentally) for the rest of the day better than at the end of the day when I feel like I'm just trying to "un-do" whatever dietary harm I did during the day. But I do like my afternoon workouts because it's a great way to end the day and I feel it keeps my body burning throughout the day and night.0 -
I lift weights around 2pm, then head to the gym after work around 6 for cardio.0

I've found that I'm not one of those people who feels energized after a workout. I feel downright sleepy, so I exercise in the evening. Exercise, shower, pre-bed/post-workout snack, TV time, bed.0

I get better results working out first thing in the morning, because if I don't do it early, it likely won't get done! Well, that goes for my DVD workouts - have to get those done before the fam gets up. I often walk with the hubby in the later morning or afternoons, but yesterday started the C52K program on my own. Got that done by 9am as well. Mornings are definitely better for me, but don't know if it gives me any better results over evening workouts.0

I have to do my workout in the morning or it most likely will not get done. I also walk a mile with co-workers once or twice a day. I am constantly reading about how magical walking is and all the success stories just from walking. I have only been recording my weight loss and excercise for two weeks now. Done two pounds between a morning run and afternoon walks.0

I prefer mornings because that is a great way to start my day and sets the tone for the entire day! However, if for any reason I do not work out in the morning, I will work out at anytime (I find the time because it is a priority for me). I like the idea of working out more than once a day and am looking into incorporating that in my schedule as well. I find that if I work out at night, I sleep better. Also LOVE walking outside so try to include that in my schedule as much as possible. As for results, I'm losing lbs and inches and I feel great and stronger. So I'm always looking for ways to take it to the next level. I like your routine :-)0 -
I love all the positive responses and that is why I love MFP. Also, the diversity in how we approach things as well. If one thing isn't working you can look to one of your MFP brothers or sisters and do what they are doing. Once again, I notice better results when I walk and I'm not talking about speed walking all the time but 3.0 - 3.5 mph. Can someone explain that one?0
