I did a lil bit of exercise today which was just 12mins broken up of just jumping jacks and skipping. I haven't been to sleep yet and it's been about 8 hours since I did it. As time passes my lower back is just get so sore! Is this muscle or what? Is it fine to do some more exercise tomorrow? I can't bend over all the way. It hurts way too much =\

Your back will tell you whether or not you can exercise tomorrow.

Either way, it's a good idea to walk around or something. It sounds like a muscle injury, which feels worse when you allow it to tighten up. You need to stay as loose as possible.

It could be several things, If your starting a new excersise routine or working in new motions then it is most likely just woking muscles that aren't used to it, in which case just stretch and strengthen and you will be fine.

it could be poor form with the motions that you are doing, or posture

I injured my back 2 year ago and for me a good matress was the best fix combined with strengthing your core so it never happens again, just evaluate what your doing and eliminate anything you can control like bad form, posture, etc..

    good luck!

While it might be impossible for any of us to diagnose the issue (especially with out a medical degree) over the internet, I can say that mine hurt on Monday as well. For the particular issue I had, some stretches seemed to help. I don't know if the weight lifting I did was the cause but I suspect that it was.

I can lean back as far as I a want but can't lean forward. I have a huge desire to crack my back. No more jumping jacks I guess! What can I do for exercise tomorrow? It's raining out

I agree that you should ice it and take something for it. I would take Naproxen, but that's because my doctor usually prescribes it when I throw my back out.
As for taking it easy, that depends on how you define that. If that means walking and light stretching instead of skipping and jumping jacks, great. If that means bed rest until you feel better, I agree with @UponThisRock. (Unless, of course, you go to a doctor, who does an MRI, finds something wrong, and suggests complete bed rest. I'm not a medical professional, so I submit to their conclusions if tests are done...)
    I hope you feel better.

I really do feel it could be posture related but while I was jumping around. It just feels more like my spine than muscle... I really dunno
