Core/weight exercise for beginner

Can anyone recommends a core/weight exercise to do at home with 5lbs weights?

  • crunches or sit-ups, with the hold the dumbbell on your stomach. Or, standing, bend side to side slowly holding dumbbells at your sides, arms straight down. If you are just starting out, I would lose the extra weight...5lbs is a big difference.
