Next topic for my presentation. I need articles stating if cardio is or is NOT required for weight loss, muscle preservation, or heart health....

Dang ... I'm not good at finding articles. What I can say is that the 'runners high' type feeling I get from cardio beats the sore muscles from lifting, in a purely mental capacity.0

Cardio is not necessary for weight loss (it is if you want to look good naked), it is not necessary for muscle preservation (protein and lifting will do that), it is necessary to a degree for heart health (the heart is a muscle and needs exercise) Low impact ie walking is good for the heart, but you don't have to get your HR to 180 in order to be healthy.
Oops, just caught that you need articles....sorry, never mind0 -

Really? I like the really spent, muscles shaking, I'm a bad *kitten* feeling post-lifting feeling of lifting. Cardio bores me, even Turbo Fire, which is the most fun/non-sport related cardio I've found doesn't give me any "high".0 -
I'm such a glutton for punishment that I love that sore muscle feeling. I work to get it. Maybe that's not healthy.0

I'll bite, because I'm procrastinating here also.
