Hi and so sorry for your fall! My suggestion would be to let yourself heal and eat the calories MFP recommends for your weight when you list activity level as "sedentary". And get better soon! Hugs.
  • I'm glad it wasn't worse than it is, which is bad enough. I got to thinking earlier about you and not being able to walk or do a lot of exercise. Something you could do is exercise for your arms and shoulders, using either cans of soup or hand weights. You could do some of those even while laying down. Keep the weights sitting near you so you can pick them up and use them while watching TV. Take care!

For weight loss, results come mostly from nutrition, so exercise isn't necessary at all. Concentrate on eating really well, keeping your calories under control, and making sure you eat good produce which will help your body to heal.

    Hope you feel better soon!
  • I think everything has been covered, but I really hope you have a speedy and full recovery!

walking, easy level yoga and pilates. those are the easiest ways to begin a healthy lifestyle while paired with healthy eating. :)

OH dear - I wouldn't be cutting calories too much if you have to have surgery - you need to ensure that your body has enough energy to heal.
I'd suggest change your goals to either maintenance or "lose 1/2 pound a week" with sedentary setting and just be disciplined about your eating. Once you are getting about a bit you'll get a good workout on crutches. And if you are seeing a physiotherapist, ask them for recommendations that are safe for you.
    Take care!
