It may be salt consumption. When you have to much salt in your diet you retain water. Meats are cured with salt to preserve them longer and add/enhance flavor, especially ham. I went through some of your diary and I noticed that your salt intake may not be adequately/properly recorded. A lot of the Tesco products don't list salt in the nutritional info. I would try looking that up and plugging that in, and see how you're doing with salt. If you have too much try cutting down on it, and keep drinking plenty of water. Drinking a lot of water, ironically enough, combatants bloating. Hope that helps and that you can figure it out.0

Other foods can also cause you to bloat if you have even a mild intolerance ,some gassy veggies, dairy products, wheat/gluten if you are sensitive to that, etc.
Try cutting back on the the sodium first, and flush your body with lots and lots of water.0 -
Could you be sensitive to gluten? It is in breads and pastas that are made from white/wheat flours. Go a few days bread/pasta free and see if that helps. Hubby has celiac's disease (gluten intolerance) so we eat rice pasta. The most common symptom of celiac's is bloating.0

I have the same problem. I have found that my body reacts negatively to certain types of foods. I am lactose intolerant and found that high fiber foods don't work for me either. I try glutten free products and it helps too.0

I'm bloated most of the time also, and have never figured out why. I eat yogurt every morning and drink hot water with lemon-- both help with digestion to some extent. You should also getting yourself test for food allergies/intolerances just in case.0

you could check out diary. I am lactose intolerant...and I get very bloated with cheese, milk etc.
Gluten (as others mentioned).
some veggies will do it - or even maybe some salsa (cucumbers actually upset my stomach...weird. I know). try eliminating a few things and go from there.
your sodium seems to be always under, so I don't think that is it.0 -
Do you use alot of artifical sweetners? I have found that when I drink too much diet mountain dew my knees and ankles swell and I retain water like crazy. I can cut them out and within a day I am back to normal. I drink mostly water now and an occasional half cut sweet tea from McDonalds when I need something with flavor.0

the best thing you can do is experiment with eliminating different kinds of foods from your diet. like others in this thread have mentioned, dairy and gluten tend to be the highest offenders. processed soy can really irritate some people too. good luck figuring it out!0

I have problem with lactose and sodium. Everytime I eat these, I look 2 size bigger.0

You may be allergic to something... try the elimination diet. For two weeks, eat ONLY gluten free grains (like brown rice or quinoa) fruits, vegetables (includes herbs), lean meat/poultry/fish. Use any spice or food prep method. Olive oil is ok, vegetable oil is not for cooking. If your bloat goes away, it is indeed food related. If it doesn't see a doctor.
If it did go away, start adding back food groups. Give each new addition 3 days before introducing another one. For example. days 1-3 add back dairy... then days 4-6 add back gluten grains... then days 7-9 sugar and alcohol.
Good luck!0 -
Artificial sweeteners like Crystal Light and those kinds of things make me suuuuper bloated.. Do you ever have those?0

I have this problem too and I'm not quite sure what's causing it.0

This may have been said, but drink more water, up your fiber.0

Yup this happens to me too and I am not 100% sure what is the trigger but I am gluten free and I know gluten bothers me but i am sure there is something else. Maybe dairy or grains in general!!0

same here. dairy causes the bloat, and too much fiber causes it too. the fiber balance is really hard to achieve. also i tend to be way more prone to bloating around pms than any other time, so i avoid salt at all costs, load up on the water and watery foods and keep moving. exercise helps decrease the bloat.0
