Visualizing an ounce

I actually have no idea how much an ounce is. Without weighing everything before I eat it, how can I estimate how much I'm eating?

You really can't visualize an ounce unless it's a fluid ounce. Otherwise it's not a measure of volume but rather one of weight. One ounce of chicken looks VERY different from one ounce of lettuce for example.0

My phone weighs 5oz, my watch about 2oz. I estimate from there.0

Get a pocket scale like drug dealers use.

Don't feel self conscious about it - just get a food scale and weigh as much as you can at home. My bf gave me grief about it at first, but at least now I am armed with the knowledge of how big my portions really are! My reporting is sooooooooo much more accurate!
Eventually after experience weighing/measuring you will be able to eyeball it for those times when you can't be more accurate. You will be very surprised at first how much (or little) things actually weigh!
One little example, I used to have a snack of peanut butter on toast, I don't spread it very thickly and I though I was being pretty good. But one day I measured out a tbsp and it was WAAAAY less than what I had been using. WAH! But it made me realise how many other things I was underestimating by just eyeballing it.0
