Hello all, I'm trying to get back into the weight lifting part of working out. I do Cardio in the morning and want to start weight lifting in the afternoon. I use to weight lift on a 4 day split (Monday/Thursday upper body and Tuesday/Friday lower body) but I have been reading the pros to all over body weight lifting 3 days a week and I really think I want to give this a try. Is there anyone out there that does this sort of weight lifting? If so, could you please tell me how it is working for you and if the change in your body is noticeable? I know the 4 day split works great but unfortunately I don't have the time that I use to have. Also, any good all over body routines you know of would be greatly appreciated. I'm planning on starting with 3 sets with 15 reps and one exercise for each muscle group. Does that sound like a good start?

I do a fully body workout every time because I never know when I'll get to the gym next and I want to hit each major muscle group. I stick to the basics 3 sets of 8 reps once I can do 12 I increase the weight. There are lots of good programs out there. Oxygen magazine has some.
I do:
Dead lifts
Push ups
Squats
Back Rows (bent knee on bench)
Shoulder presses
Tricep Dips
Planks & side planks for abs.
I get a full workout in about 45 minutes then stretch.
Good luck!0 -
check out the New rules of Lifting for Women or the NROL group on MFP. I'm only 3 months in but it has definitely helped me get stronger and see more definition in a short time.0
