I sat here last night drinking my evening protein shake as the tempting aroma of my son's garlic bread pizza wafted through the house.and it occured to me that I don't have any good garlic heavy recipes that aren't also heavy in calories.

Anybody have any to share?

I take about a tbls of olive oil, heat in a skillet, and slowly saute 5 or 6 cloves of sliced garlic, I turn it down real low and leave it for about 20-30 mins, then remove garlic and add one chopped shallot, saute till tender, add one bag fresh baby spinach and the garlic cloves back in, saute till just wilted and then add about a tbls of a really good Parmesan Regiano cheese. Very garlicy and good for you.

If you invest in a good quality piece of cheese, it will last forever and you don't need to use that much to get the flavor. Also when you are done with the cheese, save the rind and pop it into your soup or spaghetti sauce when you cook them.
  • sounds delish.

1 can french cut green beans
    1/2 cup marinara sauce
all the garlic and seasonings you want

mix together, it's like low cal nutritious spaghetti! Doesn't even taste like green beans I swear - I got the recipe from a friend who hates vegetables. LMAO

I like the sound of this! I say add some shrimp too. It adds some nice lean protein. The only downside is that the shrimp ishigh in sodium.
