how to tone/define muscles

Hello, new here. I am currently doing 20 min a day on the elliptical. 3 to 4 days a week I do another 15-30 min on the exercise bike. I really need to firm & tone my arms abs & legs. I am very bottom heavy. Big thighs, saddle bags & cankles.. ugh. I am not sure what to do to get the tone/ defined look I want. Light weight lots of reps or heavy weight with low reps.

Heavier weights did amazing things for my arms, legs, butt and waist.

i lift as much weight as i am able and do lower reps. if i'm injured (i have other issues) i use lower weights and more reps. i spend more time on cardio just to get rid of the fat, then tone up the rest with weights. sometimes i work muscle groups other times, i do a specific muscle. i mix it up, just keep it consistent.0 -
Would cardio daily & weights 3-4 days a week work ok?0

Lift heavy and lose weight, by heavy I mean do the most weight possible that u can do 6-10 reps, each set should be to "failure" in that 6-10 range, u may have to lower weight he 2nd or 3rd set0

And yes cardio and weights 3-4 days a week is perfect. Make sure u give muscle groups atleast one day off of between lifting that group again. For example I lift chest/triceps Mon and Friday, back/shoulder/biceps ob Tuesday and Saturday and do legs/abs Wednesday. (Abs on Sunday also)0
