Hello,
53 year old mother of two, looking to lose about 20-30 kilos.
Haven't exercised or watched what I ate properly for quite some time as I work full (fulllllll) time and have left home very early in the morning and gotten home late for the last twenty odd years. Wanting to feel healthier!
Would love some support and friends to get motivation from :)

  • Welcome! I am 55 and my scenario is much the same. Needed to lose 20 -30 pounds after ignoring my own health while working long hours and caring for others. Started on my "selfish" journey to care for myself a couple of months ago. Have lost 10 pounds through new eating habits and exercise. It hasn't really been that hard, once I made up my mind to do it and then let my family know that I was going to take time to take care of myself by going to the gym for 30 - 45 minutes a day. They have been on board and understand that this is important.

    Feeling so much better: blood pressure is down, will get cholesterol checked next month and hoping for improvement there as well. Sleeping has improved also.

    MFP has been a great help to me, especially to help me keep track of what I am eating. So much support here as well. Good luck.
  • Welcome to MFP I am also new since Jan 2012, and have the same problem. I am 50 and just want to get healthy and and feel good about myself.
