It does two things:
1. It ups the "replies" count (the number in the right hand column of the postings list)
2. It puts the thread in your 'My Topics" list ( the link at the top to the right of Recent Posts)0 -
Oh, I should point out that actually doing a real reply does the same thing. 'Bump' is used when you don't have anything to say and just want to 'watch' the thread. When someone bumps their own thread, it's to make it show up with more replies and in the "recent posts' list as something with recent activity (i.e. - at the top of the list).0
